Colorful Mismatched Socks Day for World Down Syndrome Day

On Thursday, March 21, we are encouraging all of our students to wear colorful mismatched socks to recognize World Down Syndrome Day. Every year on March 21 people around the world celebrate World Down Syndrome Day to bring awareness to Down Syndrome by wearing brightly colored mismatched socks.  March 21 (3/21) is symbolic because people with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome.  Socks were chosen because the karyotype of the chromosomes look like mismatched socks.  Feel free to join us by wearing mismatched socks during your day as well.  More information can be found on their website: https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/

Family Dance
Everyone is invited to our Bobcat Family Dance next Friday March 22. At the dance students will be showing off their dance skills and we will be inviting families to learn some dances as well.   There will also be food available for purchase throughout the night (Big Sur Taco, Happy Dog Hotdogs, MmmChurros, and Pizza).   Everyone is welcome to come anytime between 5:00-8:00. Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade will be starting their dance demos at 5:30 and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will start their dance demos at 6:30.   There will also be a chill zone set up in the kinder area for those that want things to do in a quieter setting.  There is no formal dress attire for the dance, but many of our students like to take the occasion to put on their nice jeans, button down shirts, dresses, etc. It is up to you what you care to wear, the most important thing is that you are there. This is an event that you don’t want to miss! Please consider signing up to help the day before or day of the event: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4FACA92E5-47799308-tularcitos#/

PTO Update
Thank you to everyone that attended our PTO meeting last week. Meeting minutes will be posted to the website soon. We will also be announcing open positions for the next school year—please consider working on one of our many projects or committees. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Tularcitos Stampede
Please join us for our next planning meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 19 at 8:45am in Bobcat Hall. We can use more help with the event.
