Weekly Bobcat Update

Good Afternoon Bobcat Families,

I hope you enjoyed Reading and No Screens Week this week.  As a reminder, next week is parent-teacher conference week, so students are out at 12:30.   Additionally, since conferences are taking place, the campus and playgrounds will be closed after school from 12:30-3:30 unless you are participating in conferences.

Reading Week and No Screens Week
A huge thank you to Chair Lindsey Johnson, committee members Sharyn Routh, Katrina Hodges, and Tesesa Heisinger, Diane Colon, all of our readers, and everyone that contributed to an awesome Reading Week & Night. We hope you also enjoyed less use of technology and were able to spend some extra quality time together. Remember, if your child completed “Blackout Bingo”, local business Olivia & Daisy Books will honor a 15% savings in store. Bingo papers will be returned to students in their folder today or early next week. Also, congratulations to Eva and Sarah, our two lucky winners from the Blackout Bingo Raffle last night! (Please check spelling of names?)  For those students that participated in No Screens week, please turn in your participation forms by Monday.  Ice cream will be served the week of March 11 (exact day TBD).

TRex Registration for 2024/25 School Year

Registration for TRex for next school year will begin Monday, Mar 4.  Pick up a packet from TRex or the Carmelo Office.  All students must re-enroll each year.  Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis so get your registration turned in early.  Completed registration packets need to be turned in at Carmelo.

Family Dance
Save the Date for the Tularcitos Family Dance approaching on Friday, March 22 from 5:00-8:00 pm. This campus-wide event is fun for the entire family. Please consider signing up to help the day before or day of the event: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4FACA92E5-47799308-tularcitos#/

Spelling Bee Information

All 4th and 5th graders are invited to participate in the spelling bee. Though optional, we encourage any student interested to participate. Word lists for studying were passed out in class this afternoon (3/1). If your child did not receive a word list packet, needs a replacement packet, or changed their mind and wants to participate, extra packets are available in the library. Our first competition will be held this coming Friday, March 8th.

Please let Mrs. Richards know if you have any questions.  nrichards@carmelunfied.org Happy Spelling :)

Yearbook Reminder

Don't miss out! Purchase your yearbooks now!  Follow the link: https://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A09853877

Yearbook Pictures

We could still use some more pictures for the yearbook.  If you have any from any class parties, field trips, or any school event like Reading Night, please use the following directions to upload them to a google drive or email them to Tularcitosyearbook@gmail.com.

Download the GOOGLE DRIVE app if you do not have it already

*Instructions were tested via iPhone and will hopefully translate similarly to Android or other phones*

The way the Tular Yearbook Photo Google Drive is organized...

Google Drive ---> 'Shared with Me' ---> 'Parent Uploads' ---> Put your photos into the correct folder/event/category

METHOD 1: (If you want your photos organized before uploading...)

1. Make an album on your phone 'Tular Yearbook 2023-2024'

2. Take and save photos into that album

3. Upload your photos into the Tular 'Parent Uploads' folder per the directions below (METHOD 2)...

METHOD 2: (If you do not mind scrolling through your photostream...)

1. Click https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ujkfEpy4G2aiyiLOiJryTOKyIt7boDm0?usp=share_link

2. Click on a folder/category/event then click the '+' sign on the bottom right

3. Click 'UPLOAD' then click 'PHOTOS AND VIDEOS'

4. Find & select your photos then click 'UPLOAD'

5. Repeat this process for the other folders

Then by the end of the year we will have accumulated great photos & organized a great yearbook for the end of the year! So select your BEST pictures, preferably with big visible faces as the pictures end up much smaller in the yearbook and we want to be able to recognize who everyone is in the photos.

Thanks for your help!
