Good Afternoon Bobcat Families,
What a fun week of school! Even with a few minor headaches of having to readjust some drop-off and pick-up procedures, overall, the week went really well and there are lots of smiles around campus and on the distance learning screens. We knew the first few days would be an adjustment, but it only took those first couple of days. In distance learning everyone was up and going right away. At school, by day two everyone was in class on time in the morning, and by day three everyone was picked up by 2:16 after school. Thank you to everyone for your patience as we worked through those few kinks. Thank you for having your masks on when you arrive, the ParentSquare app up on your phones, and your child’s backpacks at their feet. We are only able to keep people moving quickly when you do that. Thank you for taking those small steps to help everyone out.
Thank you, also, to everyone who made sure to read through and follow the drop-off and pick-up procedures and followed the directions of the staff around campus. It is vital for everyone’s safety and to get everyone dropped off and picked up efficiently, that we follow those directions. I know there will be times we forget out of habit, but if you choose to do your own thing and not follow the correct paths to campus because it seems inconvenient, please stop. While the paths we have set out may not be the most convenient, they are the safest and most efficient for everyone and we need everyone to follow them. Below, in my message to In-Person School families, I have tried to very explicitly state what is and is not acceptable for each location. Again, please follow those directions.
Even though we just got done “starting school” again for a third time this year, we are in the midst of planning for the end of the year. 5th grade families, we are currently finalizing everything for transitioning to CMS (class selections, orientations, etc.) and what we will do for promotion and your special end of year events. Stay tuned for those communications, and know that no matter what program you are in, distance or in-person, you will be involved in all of the end of year events.

General information for Drop-off and Pick-up
Please also do not arrive before 8:30 am for drop-off and 1:45 pm for pick-up each day. This will help keep the roads around campus free of cars for as long as possible and help the Tularcitos neighbors.
Please do not plan on picking up your child early between 1:30-2:00 for appointments. We cannot get your child out of class and to your car at this time because of the traffic around school and getting ready for pick-up. If you need to pick your child up early for an appointment, you will need to pick your child up by 1:30.
Specific Directions for Drop-off and Pick-up by Location
Pilot Road/TRex Parking Lot: Make sure to approach campus at drop-off and pick-up heading westbound on Via Contenta from El Caminito or CV Road. Please do not come eastbound on Via Contenta from Ford Rd or up from Pilot Rd from CV Road - doing so creates traffic problems that only adds to the time it takes and creates unsafe situations.
Via Contenta: Make sure to approach campus from driving around the airport and coming south on Ford Rd and then east onto Via Contenta for drop-off and pick-up. Please do not come up Ford Rd or Pilot Rd from CV Road, or drive westbound on Via Contenta - doing so create traffic problems that only adds to the time it takes and creates unsafe situations.
Bus Lane: For drop-off and pick-up, please approach campus going north on Ford Rd from CV Road to the bus pic-up area. Please do not come south on Ford Rd or from Via Conenta - doing so create traffic problems that only adds to the time it takes and creates unsafe situations.
Message to Everyone in Distance Learning
I hope you enjoyed your first week in your “new class” and that everything continues to go with distance learning. Please remember that the fastest way to get tech assistance is through our “Tech Support Request” on our online Distance Learning Portal.
We have moved the tables in Bobcat Hall where you will pick up new materials for the rest of the year. Please look for the new tables along the south wall. You can pick up materials between 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

State Testing
It turns out that our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are going to need to do state testing this year. Thankfully, the test is being condensed so that it is not as long as normal. While it is unfortunate that we will have to give up about six hours to do this, the results will help us in finding out how this year impacted our students’ learning. We will be taking time over the weeks of May 10 and 17 for our students to do this and spreading out the testing so it least impacts the school day. While we will be doing what we can to make sure our students know what to expect when they take this test, we will not be doing as much practice as a normal year because we do not want to spend any more time on the state tests than we have to during the precious time we have left. We want to make sure we are spending our time on learning, building relationships, and enjoying being back at school.
