Dear CUSD Families and Staff,

This morning at a special meeting of the CUSD School Board, members voted unanimously to immediately issue a Request for Proposals to engage an independent search firm to support the district’s search for a new superintendent. Once a firm has been identified, the board will work with the firm’s expert team to determine the viability of a national or statewide search and to finalize the overall projected timeline for hiring and onboarding of the new superintendent.

While all Board members will be extensively involved in the process, the Board selected Board Clerk Tess Arthur and Board President Sara Hinds to serve as the points of contact with the selected search firm. The CUSD board is united in a clear commitment to conducting an open, transparent, and thorough search process with input from all stakeholders, especially parents, students, and involved community groups.

More information will be provided to all of you as there are updates and developments to share. The board and support staff will be working as quickly and efficiently as possible to move this important process forward for and with all of you.

If you could not make today’s board meeting, you are welcome to view a video recording of the session here: https://youtube.com/c/CUSDBoardMeeting

Looking forward to a successful search and an exciting new era for CUSD.
