Tularcitos Elementary School PTO
January 7, 2015
President Robyn Rauh called meeting to order at 8:45am. Monthly PTO meetings will be held the first Wednesday of every month at 8:40am in Bobcat Hall.
Robyn introduced herself. Everyone introduced himself or herself and what grades their kids were in.
Principal’s Report-Principal Ryan Peterson introduced himself. Principal Peterson announced there are approximately 512 students in the school. The search committee for new superintendent met with community members and has posted the job and taking applications. A memorial is being discussed with the school district in memory of Diane Garneau. Updates will be coming soon.
The Food Can Drive was very successful! We collected over 2,000 cans! The 2nd Grade raised over $1,000 for the Kinship Center!
Next Thursday, our school will make presentation to the school board regarding pullout and specialty classes. The meeting will take place in Bobcat Hall at 3:30pm.
Treasurer’s Report- This month Escrip brought in $3,916 and Bucks for Bobcats brought in $23,721 with 72% school participation. Expenses this month included $733 for sound system for Bobcat Hall and $300 for assemblies.
Minutes Approval-Emily Frew made a motion to approve minutes from November 2014 Meeting. Unanimous vote was made to approve minutes.
Yearbook-This year’s Coordinators are Pia Garneau and Linnea Terrranova. 167 yearbooks have been sold. Photo Coordinators are still needed! This person will be responsible for taking pictures of class at every class trip and activity. Any parent wishing to contribute pictures can bring in flash drive, cd or use Drop Box. 5th Grade memory pages can be bought either online or submit a form. 5th Grade Memory Pages are due January 16th. Sponsors are needed for the yearbook! Sponsors can be a person or a business! This is great advertising for any business!
Bucks for Bobcats-This year’s campaign was Nov. 3-14. There was 72% school participation! There was pizza and ice cream party for the classes with the highest participation. You can still donate throughout the school year!
Hospitality-Teacher Conference Week lunches were huge success! The teachers were so appreciative of all the food that was brought in. There was so much food that it lasted for 2 days! Sign-Up Genius worked out well to sign up for food!
Talent Show-Our 2nd Annual Talent Show is February 6, Friday at 6pm. Joy Smith is the Coordinator. Auditions will be held Tuesday, January 13th at 3:15pm. Anyone interested in helping, please contact Joy Smith or Robyn Rauh.
Spring Fling-This year’s Spring Fling will be Friday, March 27th at Hidden Valley. There will be a committee meeting immediately following the PTO meeting. Anyone interested in volunteering, please contact Robyn Rauh.
Reading Week-This year Reading Week will be Feb. 23-27th. The theme will be Dr. Seuss birthday! Reading Night will take place on Thursday, February 26th at 6:30pm. We will also be doing a No Screens for Ice Cream!
FOCUS-Friends of Carmel Unified Schools-Organization raises money and purchases items for schools such as laptops, digital cameras, and science lab equipment. Please contact Cindy Schroeder if you are interested in joining. Next meeting is Wednesday, Jan. 14th at 4:30pm at the Middle School.
