Tularcitos Elementary School PTO
April 1, 2015
President Robyn Rauh called meeting to order at 8:50am. Monthly PTO meetings will be held the first Wednesday of every month at 8:40am in Bobcat Hall.
Principal’s Report-Thank you to all who helped out at Spring Fling Round-Up. It was very nice and enjoyable evening. Thank you to everyone who contributed food for the Teacher Conference Week Lunch. The teachers greatly appreciated it.
The new Smarter Balanced Assessment tests are coming soon. This year 3rd-5th Graders will take the test. The test includes essay and short answer. There will be a practice session for students in May. Practice tests can be found on their website www.smarterbalanced.org.
Meet the new Superintendent today at Carmel High School in the Library at 4:30pm. There will be small reception after the new Superintendent is sworn in.
Sketches of new playground for the lower level are in process of being reviewed. There may be new playground built for next school year.
Treasurer’s Report- This month Spring Fling Round-Up brought in $12,550 and After School Enrichment brought in $8,590. Expenses this month included $200 for field trips and $2,396 for bus transportation
Conference Week Luncheon- Thank you to everyone who brought in food and helped out. The teachers enjoyed the food. Staff Appreciation Luncheon is Friday, May 1. We will need volunteers to help and volunteers for yard duty. There will be an email sent out to sign up.
Teacher’s Lounge-Michelle Bevard reported on the progress of renovating the teacher’s lounge. The new chairs and table have arrived. New paint has been ordered. It is all slowly coming together.
Spring Fling-This year’s Spring Fling was a Raffle Round Up on Friday, March 27thlocation at Georis Tasting Room. Approximately 75 people showed up. Corkscrew and Valley Greens Art Gallery donated 20% of their profits. Everyone seemed to enjoy the nice and intimate atmosphere. The Pine Cone donated space for small ad and small article.
Minutes Approval-Emily Frew made a motion to approve minutes from March 2015 Meeting. Unanimous vote was made to approve minutes.
Yearbook-This year’s Coordinators are Pia Garneau and Linnea Terrranova. The yearbook is completed. 60% of yearbooks have been sold. Yearbooks can still be purchased in the office. Thank you Pia and Linnea for all your hard work!
New Business-The Volunteer Appreciation Assembly is scheduled for April 17th.
Carmel Middle School PTO meeting is first Wednesday afternoon of each month.
