FAFSA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Workshops

CHS is hosting two workshops to assist parents and students with the Free Application for Financial Aid.

To apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans, students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition, many states and colleges use your FAFSA information to determine your eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever, and it provides access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school.

Students in the Class of 2020 and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend our two Cash for College FAFSA Workshops. On September 10, Financial Planner Steve Shapiro will be available at 6pm in the Library to aid in some of the basics of financial planning for college. On Tues. Oct. 8th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the CHS Library, we will have financial aid outreach specialists from Monterey Peninsula College on hand to help you file the FAFSA that evening. Don't forget to bring your Chromebook and your FSA ID.
