  • PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO DISPOSE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on March 8, 2023, the Board of Education of the Carmel Unified School District (District), deemed certain real property surplus and authorized staff to proceed with the disposition of approximately 1,800 square feet of land (APN 169-131-005), including a storage building containing approximately 1,187 square feet, located at 27885 Robinson Canyon Road in Carmel Valley, Monterey County, California, 93923 (“Robinson Barn Property”).

    In accordance with Section 17464(c)(2) of the Education Code, this public notice is being made to all public districts, public authorities, public agencies, and other political subdivisions or public corporations in this state, to the federal government, and to nonprofit charitable or nonprofit public benefit corporations. Any public entity desiring to purchase the Robinson Barn Property shall notify the District. The deadline to submit a written intent to purchase to the District is 60 days after the third publication of this notice. In the event the District receives offers from more than one entity, the District’s Board may determine which of these offers to accept in its discretion.

    Sealed, written intents to purchase, or lease with an option to purchase, shall be made to the attention of: Yvonne Perez, Chief Business Official, delivered to the address below.

    Captain Cooper School, a K-5 school nestled in the Santa Lucia Mountains of Big Sur, is located 26 miles south of Carmel on California State Route One. Surrounded by mountains, the school sits some 500 feet above the entrance to the Big Sur Valley. Our site is also home to the Apple Pie Preschool. Together the schools have just under 90 students.
