Infant Room

  • The infant/toddler room at Carmel Child Development Center (CCDC) serves children from birth to 24 months. The teacher to child ratio in this room is 1:4. The Infant/Toddler Program strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment while offering a developmentally appropriate program designed to develop each child’s self-esteem, sense of competence and a positive feeling toward learning. Each child will have an opportunity to foster healthy development through adult-infant interactions.  Your child will be motivated to explore, experiment and problem solve as he/she is offered a variety of materials and adult interactions to stimulate his/her needs. 

    The Infant/Toddler Program is open from 7:15 am until 4:30pm daily.

Kerry earned a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development with a focus on Early Childhood. She holds a California State Child Center teaching Permit.

Kerry Clausen - Teacher

Kerry began working at Carmelo in the River Rec afterschool program in 2008 while she was working on her Bachelor's Degree. She was hired as a full-time teacher in 2011. She has worked with infants, preschool, and school-age children.

Molly earned her AA in Early Child Dev from MPC and her Bachelor's in Child and Adolescent dev from San Jose State. She holds a California State Child Center Teaching Permit.

Molly began working at Carmelo as a sub in 2014 and was hired full time in 2017. She has worked in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms.

Lorraine Saulovich - Classroom Aide

Lorraine worked for several years at Carmelo starting in 2007.  She has taught infants, toddlers, and preschool age children.  She concurrently works for the Pacific Grove Adult School teaching Parent Education.
