Learning Center Room 30
620-8195 ext 3330
Welcome to Learning Center Room 30. We focus on developing the reading, writing and language skills of the students. We work in small groups using direct instruction, and we also use specific computer programs such as Imagine Learning, Read Naturally Live and Starfall. I monitor student progress and adjust instruction and intervention to meet the needs of each student.
The students enjoy demonstrating and applying their reading skills. Learning poems and reading short stories in a presentation format is motivating and fun. Throughout the year I will post some of these activities. These presentations will be listed as movies. The students enjoy presenting their learning in this fun way, and we hope you enjoy watching their efforts.
Practicing a skill is an excellent method to achieve success. Please read with your child every day and talk to them about what they are learning in school. Check my Fun Links page for creative ways to develop skills and have fun, too.
I also coordinate the Monterey County Reads program for our first through third grade students. This program is sponsored by the Panetta Institute and volunteers typically spend two hours a week reading with selected students. If you are interested in becoming a reading volunteer, please contact me. I guarantee you will have a fun and rewarding experience reading with our Tular students.
