As we prepare for our school closure, I’ve put together some resources for having fun with Spanish at home.
Here are links to many of the songs your students are familiar with. Ask your student to teach you. Ask them what they remember about the main message of the song. They may not remember what individual words mean, that’s fine. They haven’t seen the lyrics to most of these songs yet.
The best way for children to acquire Spanish is to hear Spanish they can understand and then have fun with it. They could record themselves singing or lip-syncing one of the songs. They could make a playdough version and record themselves acting it out while singing the song or playing it in the background. They could teach a parent sibling and record themselves singing it together. They could learn and illustrate one and be prepared to sing it for the class back at school with their illustrations displayed.
We’ll share them when we return to school.
