    Popular lesson topics throughout the year:
     
     

               *        1st Grade     FEELINGS: identify feelings and

                                            create books about their own feeling experiences.
     
               *        2nd Grade   FRIENDSHIP AND RESPECT: how to get along with
                                            others in all settings, respect and embrace our 
                                            similarities and differences.
     

     

               *        3rd Grade     GETTING ALONG

                                            communication skills, review of friendships and a
                                            positive approach to conflict resolution.

     

               *        4th Grade     BULLYING AND RUMORS: identify behaviors

                                            and personal attitudes or characteristics that serve to

                                            build or block friendships and group cooperation. The

                                            concepts of diversity, tolerance, and acceptance are

                                            introduced. Information on bullying: what it means,
                                            how to handle situations and our roles and
                                            responsibilities.

     

               *        5th Grade     SCHOOL SUCCESS and GOAL SETTING 

                                            explore career interests and options,

                                            identify primary learning styles, experience goal-

    setting through a long term time-line activity, and learn

    strategies for academic success in the present and in

    support of their transition to middle school.
