"Cash for Cougars" Fundraiser 2021/2022
We’d love for parents to use this as a teaching opportunity to help your child(ren) understand fundraising, what the PTO does for the school and ways in which they can help. While there will be incentives for the kids to raise money (see “Fun Part” below), the funds support activities that will benefit them and this is a great opportunity to show how, together, they can raise money to help enrich their academics, school experience and support each other.
In addition, you can also help create safe ways to help them “earn” their donations. We recommend things such as:
- Chore day at home (we think this is genius!)
- Help their Grandparents with a yard chore
- Be a “helper for the day” for their sibling (make their bed, put away their dishes...etc)
- Or...just ask for donations!
The sky is the limit...we just ask that everyone stay COVID-safe.
Your child simply needs to track funds raised on the tracking sheet that was passed out at school on the Cash for Cougars launch day. Even if you donate directly, they should track this and transfer their total monies raised to this Google Form. They can submit it whenever they’re ready. Just one submission per student, please.
The Fun Part
As our thank you to the students for their fundraising efforts, they will earn prizes at each dollar level raised, and prizes are cumulative. In addition, the grade(s) who reach the highest contribution per student and highest participation percentage will earn respective bragging rights on our CMS PTO Fundraiser trophies which are located in the school office. In 2019, 6th grade raised the most money while 7th Grade had the highest participation rate!
