On your child's Classlink dashboard is a new blue icon called Raz-Kids. This is our new leveled books reading program.  Here are some directions to help you get started:

*To sign in to the program just click on the link and use the same passcode that you use to get in to Classlink.  Then your child can choose a book and start reading.

*They can "read" the book (push that button). This is a good button to start with to try to read the book independently.

*They can "listen" to the book (push that button).  This is a good idea at first if the books are challenging. Then try again to read the book.

*When they are done reading have them take the quiz to see how they comprehended what they read. If they get 3 out of 5 or less they should re-read the book and try again.

*After reading the book at least once or twice you may want to ask them questions about what they read, to go back and identify any sight words they read or tell you about their favorite part.

*They can read any book in their level in any order that they want.

*I have set the levels of the books that your child will be offered on the site.  Because it has been awhile since they've read their own leveled books I have set them a little lower to help them feel confident in getting started again.

*Please keep in touch about if your child isn't feeling challenged and you would like me to level them up. 

*If your child is struggling let me know that and I can level them down and offer you support.

*Otherwise, they will read books at their level and naturally level up after reading.

*To get started reading you may need to tell your child the TITLE of the book.  Titles are often over their reading level while the contents are just their thing!
