For students in Third through Fifth grades, Imagine Math guides students along a learning path, offering practice and limited instruction or reteaching. Your student has used this in class alongside our regular math program. Encourage your student to work through problems on scratch paper or using manipulatives (objects that can be moved to help explain the math concept).
For students in Kindergarten through Second grade, CUSD has purchased a subscription for each student. ST math is exploration and perseverance based, and does not give students verbal instructions. If your child becomes frustrated, ask him or her what they think the goal is on the particular level. Have them keep trying.
This gives students a systematic math fact practice and allows you to see their progress. While we have several programs that students can work on through Classlink, this adds another option where the parent can view results.
Khan Academy provides math instruction, practice, and videos that explain math concepts for parents and students.
