The School Age Child Care Program is an integral part of Carmel Unified School District's commitment to providing quality child care outside the regular school day. C.U.S.D. feels that it is an appropriate use of school facilities and this service will assist working families in securing affordable quality child care, as well as enrich the educational experience of our students.

The School Age Child Care Program is open on regular school days, minimum days, and staff development days. The Carmelo before school programs operate in  Room 8 and room 10 at Carmelo School. The morning program is open from 7:00-8:45 am. During the summer and C.U.S.D. break weeks, our program will be closed. Children attending Tularcitos Elementary School will be transported via CUSD bus at 8:00 a.m. to Tularcitos. Children attending TK at Carmelo School will be released to the TK staff at 8:45 a.m.

For TK students enrolled in either the early or late bird sessions, care is available from 8:45 - 2:50. A late afternoon extended day is also available until 6:00.

 Registration for the school-age child care program is based on a first come first serve basis. Registration for the upcoming school year begins in March of the preceding school year. All families must re-enroll annually. Priority enrollment is given to TK students and CUSD employees, then siblings of students enrolled at Carmel Child Development Center located at Carmelo School. The CUSD School Age Child Care Programs provide safe and nurturing, supervised environments for children enrolled in CUSD schools grades TK - 5^th  before school hours. The program provides interesting, creative and developmentally appropriate activities from which children can learn and develop a positive self-concept and be successful in school using a broad cross-section of resources.  Special effort is made to offer an environment that provides for active learning, exploration, and opportunities for decision making.

  Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel or change your contract a 30-day notice is required. You will be financially responsible for any tuition due during the 30 days.
