Hello, my name is Dana Reding and this is my 19th year teaching elementary school! This is my eighth year teaching at Tularcitos. I taught fifth grade for five years and this is my third year teaching fourth grade. Prior to teaching at Tularcitos, I taught at Spreckels Elementary for 11 years, where I taught both fifth grade and Kindergarten. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (which has come in handy being a teacher) from Sonoma State University and received my teaching credential from Chapman University. I feel so fortunate to be in the teaching profession and am grateful to work with such a wonderful community of students, teachers, and parents.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, reading, going to the beach, and swimming. My husband, Jerry, and I have four children: Christopher (26), Connor (17), Cameron (15), and Madison (13). Connor and Cameron both attend Carmel High School and Madison attends Carmel Middle School. We live in Carmel Valley and are proud to call this majestical area our home.
It is my goal as your child’s teacher to provide a safe, positive, and challenging learning environment. I believe each child possesses unique gifts and my job is to help him or her discover those gifts. Education is a partnership between home and school and I am excited about working with you to help your child develop his or her greatest potential. I am looking forward to another amazing year of teaching and learning at Tularcitos!
