I joined the CUSD family in 2011, starting at River School in the 2011-2012 school year. This is my fifth year teaching at Tularcitos School. Prior to that, I taught at the International School of Monterey with Ms. Kim Reimer and Ms. Anna Wojtalewicz, and at the Pacific Oaks Children’s School. I live in South Salinas with my husband Greg, and two kids Mae and Maxwell. Mae loves CHS, and will be a senior this year. Maxwell is excited to continue with his Tularcitos and River School classmates in seventh grade at CMS.
Our family also includes many pets. Hope, our service dog, goes to work with my husband each day. She and my husband work with adults with developmental disabilities at Hope Services in Gilroy. Our cats Olive and Chester are less altruistic, and mostly enjoy lounging on each bed while everyone is gone for the day. Four years ago, we thought that it would be fun to have chickens. We now have only one of our laying hens left, but she still produce the most delicious eggs. To add some spice to life, my son has the easiest pets of all, a bearded dragon named Toothless.
This summer my mom and I enjoyed walking the Camino in Spain! Two years ago, I was excited to work on my new 21st Century classroom makeover which has been a great success for my students! I love camping, hiking, cooking, and reading. I also love my fifth grade students, teaching in the sunshine, and all of the wonderful people at Tularcitos!
