I joined the CUSD family in 2011, starting at River School in the 2011-2012 school year. This is my eighth year teaching fifth grade at Tularcitos School. Prior to that, I taught at the International School of Monterey with Mrs. Kim Reimer and Mrs. Anna Bye, and at the Pacific Oaks Children’s School. I have two kids, one who is in high school, and the other who is away at college.
Our family also includes many pets. Hope, our service dog, goes to work with my husband each day. She and my husband work with adults with developmental disabilities at Hope Services in Salinas. Our cats Olive, Chester, and Joe are less altruistic, and mostly enjoy lounging on each bed while everyone is gone for the day. To round things out, we have a musical cockatiel named Hawk.
This summer we enjoyed family time and lots of getting out in nature. I love camping, hiking, cooking, and reading. I also love my fifth-grade students, teaching in the sunshine, and all of the wonderful people at Tularcitos!
