    Math Operations and Algebraic Thinking



      I can solve addition and subtraction word problems within 100.

     I can fluently add and subtract within 20.

      I can tell if a number is odd or even.

      I can use repeated addition to figure out how many objects are in rows and columns.

     Number and Operations in Base Ten


     I know that three-digit numbers are made up of hundreds, tens, and ones.


     I know that 100 is ten tens.

    ... ...

     I know that there are 1-9 hundreds in the numbers 100-900.

     I can count by 5s, 10s, and 100s within 1,000.

    I can read and write numbers in many ways to 1,000.


     I can compare two three-digit numbers.

    I can tell and write time to the nearest five minutes.

    Reading Foundational Skills

    I know and use phonics and word analysis skills. 
               * I read words with common prefixes and suffixes (e.g., re__, un__, __less).

        I can distinguish long and short vowels.

    I read regularly spelled two-syllable words with long vowels.

    I can read accurately and with understanding.



    I can write opinion pieces that connect the opinion and reasons using linking words (because, and, also).

    Planning the Piece

    I can write informative pieces that provide a topic, facts, definitions, and a conclusion.

    I can write narrative pieces that include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings.


    I can produce writing that is developed, focused, and organized.



    I can write routinely over extended time frames and shorter time frames.

    I can participate in conversations with peers and adults in small and larger groups.

    I can recall  and describe key ideas and details from something read aloud. 


    I can give and follow three and four step oral directions.

    I can use correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. 

    I can use a variety of methods to determine word meaning.

    I can use individual words to determine the meaning of compound words, which are two words
    joined to form a new word.
