Dear Tularcitos Bobcat Parents,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! On behalf of the Tularcitos PTO, I would like to welcome you and your children to the new school year and the Tularcitos Elementary community. I am fortunate to be serving on the PTO board this year, as President. I also am very lucky to be serving with a very dedicated group of volunteers that make up our PTO board. The year the PTO executive board also includes Lauren Robertson as Vice President, Lauren Collins as Treasurer, Gina Nucci-Hincks as Secretary and Hilary Hamilton as Room Parent Coordinator.
The PTO holds many fun and exciting events throughout the year. Look for more information about these events in Mr. Peterson’s Friday emails, our newly added PTO Newsletter and flyers that will be sent home with your children.
The PTO also financially supports many education enhancing activities/items; including field trips, classroom supplies & materials, classroom laptops, the student garden, the swim program, dynamic assemblies, and many forms of educational enrichment. Last year we introduced a volunteer pledge program to the school. Please fill out your 2 Hour Power Pledge program form and turn it in to the office or your child’s teacher. As the old saying goes “It takes a village!” Together, we can make a difference. So, make your 2 Hour Power Pledge this year.
All parents/guardians of any child enrolled at Tularcitos and all members of the school staff are automatically members of the PTO, and the membership is free. We are fortunate to live in a community where families care about each other and parental involvement in our schools is an everyday part of our children’s education. There are many wonderful things going on at Tularcitos and lots of ways to get involved. Research shows, when parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better. Schools with involved parents enjoy better morale among teachers, higher ratings of teachers by parents, more support from families, and a better reputation in the community.I encourage you to join the community of parents who work so hard to support all the students at Tularcitos Elementary.
Please join us at our first PTO Meeting on Wednesday, September 4, at 8:45 am in Bobcat Hall to find out what you can do to make a difference for your child and make our school an even better place to learn. PTO meetings are a great opportunity to meet other parents, find out what great things are happening in our school, contribute ideas about future events, and be a part of making our school the best it can be.
You can make a difference in our school! Please contact me, Heaven Tempalski, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, concerns, or want specific information about volunteering.
Here’s to a successful year!
