    CLASSROOM HIGHLIGHTS

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Open House!  I’m sure your rainforest explorer/scientist taught you a lot about the rainforest! Our academic focus for the rest of the school year will be on reviewing the kindergarten concepts, including number concepts, geometry, and tiling in math, as well as writing: narrative, informative, and opinion writing, and of course, we’ll do lots of reading!

    TEACHER’S NOTES

This will be my last newsletter of the school year.  Thank you for all your support this year!  Our rainforest will be gradually coming down, and soon, your child will have a bag full of items so that you can have your own personal rainforest at home! Please feel free to use the links on my website, as long as it’s up and running, as well as the first grade teachers’ websites in preparation for first grade.  I will be sending home a booklet from our math series, “Step Up to Grade 1,” which is a preview of the first grade common core standards. Also, please continue to read and write for pleasure during the summer.   All homework is due on May 24th.  Please let me know if you can help out with the Kindergarten Olympics on May 31st, 9:00-10:15 a.m.
