    *Aa Week*

     

    Make Caramel Apples

     

    Apple Boats:

    1.    Slice of cheese – cut diagonally into a triangle and attach to a toothpick. Stick the toothpick into an apple slice.

     

    Apple Smiles:

    1.   You need:

          2 apple slices

          1 T. peanut butter or whipped cream cheese

          6 miniature marshmallows

    2.  Spread peanut butter or whipped cream cheese on each apple slice.

    3.  Place 6 marshmallows (the teeth) along the apple slice.

    4.  Put together the 2 apple slices with the marshmallows between them.

     

    Aa Snacks: apples, apricots, asparagus

     

    *Bb Week*

     

    Make Blueberry Muffins

     

    Bunny Brosia:

    Mix together raisins, chopped walnuts,

    whipped cream, and miniature marshmallows.

     

    Banana Brown Cow:

    1.  Peel a banana and put in a blender.

    2. Add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.

    3. Add 1½ c. of chocolate milk. Blend.

    (variation– chocolate ice cream and regular milk)

     

    Bb Snacks:  bananas, berries, broccoli,

                       bran muffins                  

     

     

     

     

    *Cc Week*

     

     

    Cupcakes:

    Use any easy boxed recipe.

     

    Cranberry Cookies:

    Add dried cranberries to an oatmeal cookie mix instead of raisins.

     

    Cocoa:

    Be sure to add 6 miniature marshmallows on top.

     

    Crunch Crunch:

    Make a snack with dried cranberries, nuts, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips or peanut butter pieces, and yogurt raisins.

     

    Cc Snacks:  carrots, celery, crackers, cashews

     

     

     

     

    *Dd Week*

     

    Delicious Doughnuts:

    1.   Get 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough.

    2.   Poke a hole using your finger into each doughy biscuit.

    3.   Have a grown-up fry in hot oil.

    4.   Remove from oil onto a paper towel.

    5.   Put in a lunch sized paper sack –

           1 c. of brown sugar or granulated sugar

           1 T. of cinnamon

    6.   Place each doughnut in the paper sack and shake until coated.

     

    Delicious Drumsticks:

    1.   Heat oven to 425 degrees.

    2.   Mix ½ cup flour, 1 t.salt, ½ t.paprika and

           ¼ t. pepper in a ziploc bag.

    3.   Put 6 chicken drumsticks (one at a time) into bag to coat.

    4.   Arrange on an ungreased pan or baking dish.

    5.   Bake uncovered until done, about 50 minutes.

     

    Dd Snacks:  dried fruit, deviled eggs, dates, dill pickles

     

    *Ee Week*

     

    Enormous Elephant Ears:

    You need: refrigerator biscuit, spray butter, sugar, and cinnamon

    1.     Flatten 1 biscuit in the palm of your hand.

    2.    Gently place biscuit on baking pan.

    3.    Shape biscuit to resemble an elephant's ear.

    4.    Spray butter on top of the biscuit.

    5.    Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.

    6.    Place in oven and bake for 10-12 minutes according to directions on the biscuit can.

     

    Easy Egg Salad Sandwiches:

    Combine 6 hard boiled eggs (mashed), 1/3 c. mayonnaise,

    1 tsp. salt and a dash of pepper.

    Add in any of the following:

    1/4c. chopped green pepper

    1/4c. chopped celery

    1/4c. sliced green onions

    1T. sweet pickle relish (drained)

    3/4c. chopped ripe olives

    Serve on bread.

     

    Also make Enchiladas or Egg Rolls for an Ee Week evening dinner.

     

     

     

    *Ff Week*

     

    Frogs on a Lily Pad:

    Spread cream cheese onto a round cracker (lily pad) and add a green grape (frog) on top.

     

    Fruit Dip:

    Blend:

    1 small container of strawberry whipped cream

    Cheese and 1 small strawberry yogurt

    ¼ c.of strawberry jelly

    Dip apples, strawberries, bananas, and melon

     

    Fizzy Fruit Cooler:

    Pour ½ fruit juice glass in a glass.

    (choose apple, pineapple, orange, or grape)

    Add club soda.

     

    Don’t forget to make:

    French Toast

    Fruit Kabobs on Skewers

    Finger Food (anything to eat without a fork or spoon)

     

    Ff Snacks:  fruit, frozen yogurt

     

     

     

     

     

    *Gg Week*

     

     

    Gooey Ghosts:

    1 can of refrigerator biscuit dough, butter and powered sugar

    1.   Shape each biscuit dough into a ghost shapes onto cookie sheet.

    2.   Add raisins for eyes.

    3.   Bake according to directions on biscuit can.

    4.   Brush with butter and sprinkle on powdered sugar.

     

    Ghost Cookies:

    Nutter Butter Cookies, melted white chocolate, mini chocolate chips

    1.   Dip Nutter Butter Cookies into melted white chocolate.

    2.   Add mini chocolate chip eyes.

    3.   To make goblins, add green food coloring to the melted white chocolate.

     

    GgSnacks:   granola bars, graham crackers, grapes,

                       goldfish crackers

     

     

     

     

    *Hh Week*

     

     

    Happy Hot Dogs:

    Use crescent dough and wrap around each mini hot dog. Bake for about 15 minutes oruntil the dough is a little brown.

     

    Honey Hermits:

    In a small cup or bowl, stir in 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, ½ t. of honey, 1½ t. of powdered milk, and 2 T .of crispy rice cereal. Mix together and roll into balls. Refrigerate until set. This makes a portion for 1 child.

     

    Honey Handwich:

    Make a sandwich with peanut butter and honey or toast a slice of bread and spread peanut butter and honey on top. Add slices of banana too.

     

    Heavenly Hash:

    2c. mandarin oranges, drained

    1c. sour cream

    2c. pineapple chunks, drained

    1c. shredded coconut

    1c. chopped maraschino cherries

    1 bag miniature marshmallows

    Mix together well and let stand one hour or more to blend flavors.

     

    HhSnacks:  hazlenuts, hard-boiled eggs,hummus

     

     

     

     

     

    *Ii Week*

     

    Igloos:

    1/2 an apple

    2T. of peanut butter

    15-20 mini white marshmallows

    On a paper plate, spread peanut butter on the outside of half of an apple and cover with mini marshmallows. When they finish making their igloo they can eat it.

     

    Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes:

    1.     Make cupcakes by filling flat-bottomed ice cream cones halfway with cake batter. (no further or they will not cook thoroughly).

    2.    Place each cone in a mini cupcake baking tin for stability. Bake at the recommended temperature (350 degrees) for about the same time as cupcakes.

    3.    Swirl frosting or whipped topping on the cone like soft-serve ice cream.

    4.    Add sprinkles and top with a maraschino cherry.

     

    Ii Snacks:  ice cream, ice pops

     

     

     

     

     

     

    *Jj Week*

     

     

    Jelly Biscuits:

    You'll need:

    biscuit dough, jelly or jam

    1.  Place the biscuits on a cookie sheet or baking pan.

    2. Make an indentation in each biscuit with your thumb.

    3. Drop in a 1 t. of jelly into the indentation.

    4. Bake according to directions.

     

    Jj Snacks: Jello, juice, jerky

     

     

    *Kk Week*

     

    Counting Kabobs:

    apples (sliced), large marshmallows, pineapple chunks, oranges (peeled and pulled apart into sections)

    wooden skewers

    Directions:

    1.   Count 1 apple slice.

    2.  Count 2 marshmallows.

    3.  Count 3 pineapple chunks.

    4.  Count 4 orange sections.

    5.  Push onto the skewer.

    6.  Count thenumber of pieces in all, then eat!

     

    Kk Snacks: kiwis, kale

     

     

     

    *Ll Week*

     

     

    Lemon Cookies:

    1 box of lemon cake

    Mix 2 eggs, 2/3 c. of Crisco shortening

    1 can of cream cheese frosting candy sprinkles and almond slivers to decorate Directions:

    1.    Blend eggs and shortening.

    2.    Add half of the dry cake mixand beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.

    3.    Add remaining dry cake mix and blend.

    4.    Form into 1 inch balls.

    5.    Place on ungreased baking sheet. Cookies will spread with a soft center.

    6.    Bake at 375  degrees for 10 – 12 minutes.

    7.    Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before removing.

    8.    Frost and decorate, then eat!

    Ll Snacks:  lemonade, loganberries

     

     

     

    *Mm Week*

     

    Mummyand Monster Muffins:

    Ingredients:

    English muffins      pizza sauce

    Mozzarella cheese slice strips

    sliced olives           small pepperoni slices

    mushrooms, cashews, pineapple (optional)

    Spread muffin with pizza sauce. Place olives for eyes and cheese slice strips on top. Use your imagination and use any other pizza toppings indicated for a monster face. Place on foil. Bake in a toaster oven at 350 degrees for 5 – 10 minutes or until cheese melts.

     

    MonkeyMilk:

    Blend vanilla ice cream, milk, chocolate syrup and a banana in blender.

     

    Marshmallow Smores:

    Microwave between 2 graham crackers – Hershey chocolate bar, marshmallows and don’t forget to spread on a little peanut butter for added yumminess.

     

    Mm Snacks:  mangoes, melons, milk

     

    *Nn Week*

     

     

    Nutty Nibbles:

    1 package Cheerios

    1 package Wheat Chex

    1 package Rice Chex

    1 package pretzel sticks

    1 lb. salted peanuts

    1/4 lb. margarine, melted

    1/2 lb. butter, melted

    1 t. Worcestershire Sauce

    1/2 t. garlic salt

    Mix all ingredients in a roasting pan. Bake at 200 degrees for 2 hours. Stir occasionally.

     

    Nachos and Cheese:

    Melt Velveeta Cheese in the microwave. Pour onto child’s plate over tortilla chips. Add to melted cheese any other ingredients such as olives, diced tomatoes and ground meat.

     

    Nn Snacks: nuts, nectarines

     

     

    *Oo Week*

     

    Octopus Salad:

    1 peach half   1 lettuce leaf     2 raisins

    an almond sliver   8 carrot sticks

    1.   Put the lettuce on the plate.

    2.   Next place the peach half on the lettuce

    3.   Add the 8 carrot appendages.

    4.   Add raisin for eyes and an almond sliver for the mouth.

    5.   Eat and enjoy.

     

    Oo Snacks:  olives, oranges, oatmeal, orange juice, omelets

     

     


    *Pp Week*

     

    Purple Cow:

    1-1/2 c. milk     1/2 c.grape juice   1 sliced banana

    Place all ingredients in blender.  Mix until smooth and frothy.  Makes 3 servings.

     

    Pizzas:

    1 English muffin split in two

    1 large spoonful ofspaghetti sauce or pizza sauce

    Spread around on each English muffin.

    Sprinkle shredded cheese,olives or any other toppings.

    Toast in toaster oven or broiler.

     

    PpSnacks:  pickles, popsicles, popcorn, pineapple,  potatoes, pretzels, peanut butter, peanuts, pears,peaches, pumpkin seeds

     

     


    *Qq Week*

     

    Quiche:

    1-1/2 c. milk   3 eggs    1/2 c. margarine, melted
    1/2 c. Bisquick      1/4 t. salt and pepper

    Mix above ingredients well.

    Add 1 c. grated cheese.

    Add 1/2 c.chopped ham, bacon, onion, green pepper, or mushrooms. Pour into a buttered piepan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

     

    Queen’s Crowns:

    Stack 2 pineapple rings.

    Stick toothpicks into the pineapple rings and add "jewels" onto each toothpick.

    “Jewels" can be cheese, bananas, oranges, strawberries, grapes. etc.

     

     


    *Rr Week*

     

    Rice & Raisin Pudding:

    2c. uncooked instant rice       3 c. milk    

    6T. sugar       1/2t. salt        1/2 t. cinnamon   1/2 c.seedless raisins

    Mix all ingredients in a pot and bring to a rolling boil.  Stir constantly. Remove from heat and let stand 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or cool.

     

    Rocky Road Snack:

    1 c. chocolate chips      1 c. nuts          

    1 c. raisins                    1 c. mini pretzels  

    1 c.cereal        1 c. of marshmallows

    Combine the ingredients in a bowl. Let your child gently stir the goodies together. Store in an air tight container.

     

    Rr Snacks: raisin bread, radishes, rice cakes with cream cheese, raisins

     

    *Ss Week*

     

    Super Strawberry Bars

    1 c. flour                1 c. rolled oats       ½ c. butter or margarine, softened

    1/3 c. light brown sugar   ¼ tsp. baking powder       1/8 tsp. salt

    ¾ c. strawberry jam

    1.       Preheat oven to 350°.

    2.      In a large bowl, mix everything together except the strawberry jam.

    3.      Measure out 2 c. of this mixture. Leave the rest in the bowl, and  set it aside.

    4.       Take the 2 c. of the mixture and press it into the bottom of 8" x  8"pan. You can use your hands or a spoon. Make sure you cover the entire bottom of the pan!

    5.       Using a large spoon spread the strawberry jam on top of the mixture in the pan. Spread it evenly all over.

    6.       Take the mixture that was left in the bowl, and spread it over the strawberry jam. Press it down lightly.

    7.       Bake for 25 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes.

    8.       Cut the bars into 12 squares to eat and share.

     

    Smoothies:

    1 c. vanilla yogurt (or use milk or rice milk)      fresh or frozen strawberries          
    fresh or frozen blueberries              1 banana

    Blend all ingredients in a blender. Blendfor about 30-40 seconds or until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and enjoy!

     

    Super Swee tSnack:

    Mix as a Dip: 1/2 c. peanut butter with 1/4 c. honey

    For:  Carrot Sticks Celery Sticks Apple Slices

     

    Ss Snacks:  strawberries, string cheese,salami, spinach

     

     

     

    *Tt Week*

     

     

    Ting-A-Lings:

    6 oz. bag chocolate chips

    8 oz. bag peanut butter chips

    1 can (4 oz.) chow mein noodles

    1 c. cashews or peanuts

    Melt the bits in a double boiler or in a microwave oven. Add the chow mein noodles and nuts. Drop on wax paper by teaspoonfuls and let cool.

     

    Tt Snacks: tapioca, tangerines,tuna, the tomato juice, tomato slices, turkey

     

     

     

    *Uu Week*

     

     

    Pineapple Upside DownCake:

    Use a yellow cake mix and make according to package directions. In the bottom of a greased 9 x 12 inch pan, spread drained pineapple slices and place pitted cherries in the middle ofeach one. Pour batter over this and bake as directed. Cool, turn over, and top with Mapley Whipped Cream.

     

    Mapley Whipped Cream:

    Subtly sweetened with maple syrup, this whipped cream nicely complements the pineapple upside-downcake.

    Ingredients:

    1 c. heavy cream, chilled

    1T. maple syrup

    Instructions:

    1.     Chill a mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 15 minutes, then beat the cream in the bowl with an electric mixer until it thickens into soft mounds.

    2.    Add the maple syrup and continue beating until the cream forms soft peaks when you lift the beaters.

    3.    Finish beating the cream by hand with a wire whisk until it is the consistency you like. This will prevent overbeating which can turn the cream to butter.

    4.    Makes 2 cups.

     

     

     

     

    *Vv Week*

     

     

    Vanilla Cherry Shake

    Ingredients:

    4 scoops of vanilla icecream      2 c. milk    3/4 c. frozen cherries, pitted

    1 T. of pure vanilla extract                1/4 c. of crushed almonds

    Using a blender, mix ingredients slowly, stopping every few seconds. Be careful not to over blend.  When done, the ice cream should be smooth and the cherries and nuts chunky  .Pour and serve.

     

    Hot Vanilla:

    Ingredients:

    1/2 c. whipping cream        1 T. chocolate syrup         

    dash of cinnamon               1 c. milk (per hot vanilla)   

    2 t. sugar (per hotvanilla) 1/2 t. vanilla extract (per hot vanilla)

    1.      Start with the topping. In a medium bowl, whip 1/2 cup of whipping cream until it's frothy. Add 1 T. chocolate syrup and a dash ofcinnamon, then continue to whip the mixture until everything is well blended and peaks form.  Makes enough to top about 6 drinks.

    2.     For each hot vanilla, microwave 1 c. milk and 2 t. sugar in a mug for 90 seconds. Stir in 1/2 t. vanilla extract. Top with a dollop of chocolate cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, and a dash of cinnamon.

     

    *Ww Week*

     

    Walnut Salad:

    Use cut-up fruits and add chopped walnuts and mayonnaise to taste.

     

    Western Wagon Wheels:

    Ingredients:

    1 lb. ofhamburger or ground turkey, 2 c. wagon wheel pasta, uncooked,  1 large can of stewed tomatoes (14.5 oz),
    1-1/2c. water, 10 oz. frozen corn-thawed and drained, 1/2 c. barbecue sauce, salt and pepper to taste

    Directions:

    1.       Sauté hamburger until well done.

    2.       Stir in pasta, tomatoes, corn, water and barbecue sauce and bring to a boil.

    3.       Reduce heat to simmer. Cover skillet andsimmer for 15 minutes or until pastais tender.

    4.       Add salt and pepper to taste.

     

    Worms in Dirt:

    1 16-oz. package Oreo type cookies, 2 c. cold milk, 1 package small JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding, 1 tub (8 oz.) Cool Whip Whipped Topping, thawed slightly,  individual serving cups, gummy worms

    1 .      Crush cookies in zipper-style plastic bag with rolling pin or in food processor.

    2.       Pour cold milk into large bowl. Add pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes.  Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in whipped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies.

    3.       Place about 1 T. crushed cookies into each cup. Fill cups about 3/4 full with pudding mixture. Top with remaining crushed cookies.

    4.       Refrigerate until ready to serve. Garnish with gummy worms just  beforeserving. Yields about 8 servings.

     

    Ww Snacks:  watermelon, walnuts, whole wheat bread

     

     

    *Xx Week*

     

    Snack Mixes:

    1 ¼ c. dried bananas

    1 c. dried papaya

    1 c. dried mango

    ¼c. sliced almonds

    ¼c. coconut

    ¼c. mini chocolate chips

     

     

    2c. cheese-flavored popcorn

    1c. banana chip, broken into pieces

    1c. dry-roasted peanuts

    1c. dried cranberries

     

     

     

    *Yy Week*

     

    Yogurt Fruit Dip:

    1 container (8 oz.) strawberry cream cheese

    1 single serve carton strawberry yogurt

    2 T. of strawberry jelly     1/2 c. chopped strawberries

    1/4 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 tsp. lemon juice

    Whip together and serve with whole strawberries, and apple and banana slices.

     

    Yogurt Popsicles:

    1 c. plain yogurt,  1 banana (sliced),  1 t. vanilla extract,  

    1 c. fruit juice or fruitchunks (orange juice, sliced peaches, pineapple juice and chunks, strawberries,etc.)

    Blend ingredients together and pour into small paper cups. Freeze. Place a plastic spoon or popsicle stick in each cup when yogurt mixture is half frozen. To serve, turn cup upside-down and run hot water over it until the popsicle slips out. Keep the cup to use as a holder as it is enjoyed. Makes 4-5 small popsicles.

     

    Candied Yams:

    2 T.cornstarch 1-1/2 c. honey           1/8t. salt

    6 yams, sliced and cooked

    In a medium saucepan, combine cornstarch, honey, and salt with

    1- 1/2 c. water and cook on medium-low heat until the liquid is clear .Pour over cooked yams and bake at 400 degrees until brown. Makes 8 servings.  Suggestion: Marshmallow Creme topping

     

     

    *Zz Week*

     

    E-Z Zucchini and Zippy Dip:

    Blend 2 c. of cottage cheese with a little milk to thin a bit and add 1/2 c. mayonnaise and a package of your favorite ranch dressing mix.

    Chill and serve with zucchini spears.

     

    E-Z Pretzels

    10 oz. refrigerated pizza dough 1 egg, beaten, 1 T. water,  poppy seeds, sesame seeds,coarse salt, garlic salt

    Unroll pizza dough onto an 18-inch piece of lightly floured waxed paper. Roll dough into a 16 by 10 inch rectangle. Cut dough lengthwise into 10 1 inch-wide strips. Shape each strip ofdough into a circle, overlapping about 4 inches from each end and leaving ends free. Taking one end of the dough in each hand, twist at the point where the dough overlaps. Carefully lift each end across to the edge of the circle opposite to it. Tuck ends under to seal. Place pretzels 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Stir together egg and water. Brush pretzels with egg mixture. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, coarse salt, garlic salt or onion salt. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden.  Serve warm.
