Child Development Enrollment Priorities
To the extent that space is available, priority for admissions shall be given to children of district employees, district students (students who live within the Carmel Unified School District boundaries), and children of district students, including the enrollment of children who are eligible for subsidized services and special education services. (Board Policy 5148 Education Code 8263 and 5 CCR 18106.)
In addition to the above priorities, children are enrolled according to the date of a written request to be added to the waitlist and a waitlist fee is recorded. Children who are eligible for subsidized services will have the waitlist fee waived.
A birthdate or birth due date is required to be added to the waitlist.

State Funding Family Fee Schedule
Carmel Unified School District receives state funding to provide free or reduced-rate preschool and UPK extended care for families whose income and needs meet the eligibility criteria set by the State of California (see Fee Schedule). Children must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1st of the current school year to qualify. Please call the Carmelo Office for more information.
