Degrees and Certifications:

Señora Griffin

¡Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español! Welcome to Spanish class!  I am Señora Griffin and I am so excited to be your Spanish Teacher IN PERSON here at River School!  I have been teaching for 26 years and this is my 7th year at River School.

I have been living in Monterey County since high school but I moved every couple of years before that.  I was born in Ohio and have lived in Maryland, South Carolina, and Texas.  In California, I lived in Port Hueneme, Long Beach, and Salinas. I even got to move to Europe and live in Madrid, Spain for a few years.  I really enjoyed my time there and grew to love the Spanish language and culture.

I attended California State University Long Beach and received my bilingual teaching credential there.  Later, I attended Chapman University where I recieved my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am married and have two children.  Madison is 25 and lives in San Jose, California and Bailey is 22 and is pursuing a music degree from Berklee School of Music.  I have a dog named Gracie and I love to garden, hike and travel.

I love speaking and teaching Spanish. We will learn the language and cultural customs of many Spanish speaking countries by singing, dancing, playing games, reading and writing.  It's going to be a wonderful year and I am so happy we will be together.
