Welcome to 3rd Grade & Room 23!  I am looking forward to meeting each of my new students and can't wait to get to know all about you.  As an educator, I am passionate about sharing my love of learning with children.  My goal is to encourage each of my students to discover their true potential and to achieve their dreams.  I strive to provide a nurturing, creative, rigorous, inviting learning environment in which my students feel welcomed, safe, and encouraged to take risks.   Spreading kindness and compassion is an important part of our classroom.  This is my 12th year teaching at Carmel River School, and my 25th year teaching elementary school.  I live in Carmel Valley with my husband, Greg, our son Quinn, a junior at CHS, and our dog, Gatsby. Our twin daughters, Abby & Lily, will be starting their freshman year at college this August!  l love the ocean, the mountains, animals,  hiking, yoga, traveling, and teaching.  During my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, painting, walking on the beach, and being with family and friends.  I received a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego, Revelle College and completed my teaching credentials at Chapman College and the USC Rossier School of Education.  My experiences as a teacher have been some of the most rewarding of my life.  I feel very grateful to be working in a profession that I love.  Knowing that I have a positive impact on children's lives is the best reward I could hope for.  I am honored to be teaching 3rd Grade at our amazing school in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  Please stop by to say hello!
