Several programs are offered at Carmel High School to address issues that relate to student stress, prevention measures for substance use and abuse, and awareness of CHS social norms.
Our programs:
Link Crew- A freshmen orientation program that pairs up freshmen with upperclassmen. The groups meet throughout the year both in social and academic settings.
Challenge Day- Every year the junior class spends a day working to make CHS the school of their dreams.
Every 15 Minutes - A program conducted every three years to remind the community of the dangers of associated with driving under the influence.
Awareness Weeks - The ASB officers, led by the Creative Changes commissioner, along with assistance from various campus clubs, plans a week devoted to educating the school on important issues. Examples of Awareness Weeks include: Healthy Alternative, Environment, HIV/AIDS and Music Appreciation.
Assemblies - Throughout the year various assemblies take place to increase awareness and motivation within the school. Some speakers include: a doctor who worked in Darfur, a lost boy of Sudan, Myth Busters, ethnic dance instructors, and many more.
