Katie Nash, M.A. and Ph.D., holds both a site supervisor and Master Teacher Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. She earned more than 30 units in Early Childhood Education from Sonoma State University. Prior to teaching, Dr. Nash studied family life extensively and conducted international research on women's work and family roles and childcare services. She published academic articles in the field of family sociology. Katie currently lives in Big Sur with her husband, daughter, two cats, a guinea pig, and several fish. Katie believes in the value of play-based curriculum for young children and likes to remember Albert Einstein;s famous words, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." Katie likes to share her love of dance, movement, storytelling and singing with young children.
